Overfinch is in the process of developing an extra potent 500 bhp version of the Jaguar 4.2 v8 Supercharged engine that will power both the forthcoming Range Rover Sport and the 2006 Range Rover with an estimated 500+ bhp. The engine is just one element of two new Overfinch flagship models that are expected to be launched in Autumn 2005.
Interestingly the continuing BMW based 5 litre model (580 S) launched in 2003 posted identical 0-60 times in independent tests to those quoted for the new Jaguar Supercharged Range Rover but with less power and without the aid of a 6-speed automatic.
Both Overfinch models will feature new aerodynamic styling with traditional Overfinch twin inbuilt exhausts. The popular Tiger 22" alloy wheel will be optional on both models to complete the car's sporting intent. Early indications suggest that the 2006 Overfinch Range Rover will provide the owner with Cayenne Turbo performance but still retain typical Range Rover comfort and style.
This year Overfinch will commemorate its 30th Anniversary as a specialist manufacturer and these two new Anniversary models will be a focal point of the year's celebrations
