Pedrosa takes dominant home victory
Sunday, March 30th 2008, 12:50 GMT
Dani Pedrosa took a dominant home victory in the Spanish MotoGP at Jerez - the Repsol Honda rider jumping into the lead at the start and then edging away from the pack.
Valentino Rossi beat his Fiat Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo to second place, with Nicky Hayden falling away from them in fourth on the second factory Honda after a late-race error.
World champion Casey Stoner was in the podium battle initially but dropped to the tail of the field after running wide. He had another trip through the gravel while trying to recover, and ultimately finished 11th.
Front row starter Colin Edwards crashed out early on.

Now if Repsol Honda an get their pneumatic valve engine sorted out, they should be extremely competitive this year. |
