It depends on how much more power you want. Stock G62B 1800 = 158 bhp (flywheel.)
200 bhp. Easy to get...
Reasonably safe with OEM bottom end but use ARP head-studs + ARP con-rod bolts.
With a manual boost controller (MBC) in my first rwd 1800 GSR the performance was GREAT!
The only downside was increased fuel cut at the top end due to boost spikes and
primitive MBC. A Greddy Profec B Spec II may be a much better alternative.

IMHO replace the stepper motor and other sensors (Throttle position sensor etc.)
if you're staying SOHC. Less maintenance/tuning headaches in the long run.
FUEL:
US 2.6 Starion uses same wet-manifold twin-injector Throttle body as the JDM 1800 GSR.
New fuel injectors + other spares are available from Top End Performance USA. Click Here
Add a Bosch external fuel pump (swap) and Fuel Pressure Regulator.
I used one from a Mercedes Benz... You REALLY need a FPR after that! Rolling Eyes
TURBO:
Add a turbo from 4wd GSR (CM5A) with modified G62B exhaust manifold or adapter plate.
AIR:
I don't know for sure but check with Top End Performance to see if the MAF from the 2.6 US Starion flows more air than the JDM 1800 GSR. If so use it.
IGNITION:
Ask them if the 2.6 Starion ECU can be used as well.

Check Mitsubishi Lancer Register for more rwd LT tuning details... Click Here
DOHC:
Another (cheaper) alternative to a 4G63 is a DOHC head on your G62B 1800 block.
This is the easiest (not cheapest) way to another 40 bhp (flywheel) using stock bolt-on parts.
US Eclipse is maybe the easiest option to get.
Whatever your choice (Eclipse / 4G93 / 4G63 Gen 1 or Gen 2 head)...
use matching, stock DOHC turbo, ECU, fuel rail, injectors, cams, manifolds etc.

Over 250 bhp. ... $$$$
FIRST upgrade the con-rods and use ARP head-studs + ARP con-rod bolts.
You need bigger turbo + injectors + fuel pump + intercooler etc. OR a complete 4G63.

Brakes & Suspension:
BTW you already have serious brake fade with a stock setup + MBC. Trust me I know.
UPGRADE the calipers (+ rotors and master cylinder???) FIRST before you touch anything
else. You need more rubber too... Get 17" rims + bigger tyres if you use Brembos.
It understeers like a b!tch at the limit (all the time.) Rolling Eyes Try stiffer front gas-struts
and springs (US Starion???) + rear gas shocks + rear LSD (very rare.)

... and try not to use an SR20... Very Happy

My $0.02

Sanctifier.

would you be kind enough to explain how the gentleman did this... clueless on what and how he did this...

I have this at the moment...

on this car

i'd like to modify the fuel delivery on this car... the tbi is a pain... I'd like to go the multi point injector way

might swap a 4G63t... if it's this light, I'm seriously considering a swap

I don't know which Multi-point Injector Manifold fits the 1.8 G62B head. Your best bet is
the Lancer EX Turbo Forum on the Mitsubishi Lancer Register. THEY are the experts!

might swap a 4G63t... if it's this light... Somehow I don't think they are THAT light. Laughing
With one Evo already + E6 Clone coming up, MILAGE will be a BIG issue for me Rolling Eyes
I have to make the same decisions. Stock 1.8 G62BT, 2.0 G63BT or Gen 1 4G63 head swap.

Your car looks great. Cool I hope mine looks at least half as good as that eventually. Post pix
and detailed 'specs' on Readers' Rides page... and tell us a bit more about yourself. Thanks.

Look closely at the thermostat housing and you can see that it is welded onto the manifold.
It looks to me like somebody did a lot of work to create this manifold. looks like a damn good piece of work though.
