PARIS (Reuters) - Nissan Motor on Thursday reported a 14.5 percent increase in European sales in November to 49,168 vehicles, a record month for the Japanese car maker in which Renault has a 44 percent stake.
Year to date, Nissan (7201.T: Quote, NEWS , Research) sold 521,285 units, up 6.2 percent.
It said that its growth was not only in eastern Europe but there were also strong performances in major markets across western Europe.
In Russia, it broke the 100,000 milestone with 108,733 units sold year to date, a 62.8 percent rise year on year.
Big-selling models were the Qashqai compact cross-over and the Tiida compact model.
Russia is the biggest market for Nissan in its regional definition of Europe, followed by the U.K. and Spain.
