Richard Westbrook wins a Porsche Carrera



Stuttgart. On the occasion of the Essen Motor Show British racing driver Richard Westbrook received a very special prize for winning this year�s Porsche Mobil1 Supercup: In recognition of his victory in the world�s fastest international cup trophy, 32-year-old Westbrook took over the keys to his new Porsche Carrera. Developing 325 bhp, this outstanding sports car is a look-alike resembling the VIP car in the 2007 Supercup season raced by prominent guests of Porsche AG in selected races. Westbrook received the keys to the car as the 15th Champion in the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup from Altfrid Heger, the first driver to win the title in 1993.

It was only in the last race of the season on the Belgium race track in Spa that Westbrook succeeded in defending his title in 2007. In a race truly exciting to the very last lap, sixth place was sufficient to give Westbrook the title. In the 11 races during the season, Westbrook made an appearance on the podium no less than 8 times, winning the races in Barcelona and Budapest in his 400-horsepower Team HISAQ Competition Porsche GT3 Cup.

�A great prize for a great season�, said a very happy Richard Westbrook when receiving his new private car. �Both on the race track and on the way there, the greatest thing I can imagine is sitting in the cockpit of a Porsche 911. And it�s a good thing that the car is left-hand drive, since that means I won�t forget steering on the �wrong side� in my case during the winter in between seasons.�
