So maybe a bit of homesick vibes kicked in tonight. But felt like starting a thread a lil from a girlee perspective.. feel free to add on..

Older brothers & their wisdom!

Driving

Driving a manual car is not a complicated feat, but a simple combination that enables the driver to have a distinct control of the vehicle.

Down shifting is a notable way to prevent sleeping while driving and bring extreme joy (or fright) to those with you.

Even though they are called auto they can still be shifted & can be used quite efficiently on a drag strip giving great and consistent times to add!

Moms car can always reach the end of the speedometer and still manage to handle.

If you manage to take a race through a corner that follows with a significant incline, while driving a small, light car with only two people it will jump! Be sure to keep in lane.

A motorcyclists lane is the white line.

Drifting does not happen only over water. And is only a good thing when you intentionally do it.

Beware of driving on the roads with rear wheel drive, unless traffic isnt there Wink

Watching a car squat before a line is a sexy thing. Of course depends on the car.

One has to be careful not to loose concentration breaking your neck to watch ah sweet ride. (what ? they does have ppl driving? Really? )

Audio

It is not how much you put into a car but how well you design it. More is not always better.

There are things as a sound off cd; which has a carefully chosen selection of songs that has great heights, mids and off course BASS!

When driving into a parking lot, its always better to turn down the music just before you arrive and blast it when you leave rather than letting all the world know what you have in there while its parked.

Speaker boxes can be made out of many different materials including paper cores.

I can set up my own music. Good explanation & good diagrams and a wiring kit from Circuit City its possible.

Liming

Once there are cars they will come!
Once there are chicas they will come!
Once there is food they will come!

Put them some or all together and its a doubles lime.

Maintenance

Cleaning your car
- vacuum all interior
- Back seats are for passengers or speakers not shoes.
- Wipe all leather/plastic finishes to prevent cracking
- Automatic car washes are less than a manicure use it

Check oil and notice the texture & color in addition to the level.

Keep a 12 & a 10 in the car at all times. No they are not shoe sizes!

You may have to buy a separate socket to change your tires. Like a 21. Those sizes dont always come in the normal sets.

Manifold, intercooler, cams, body kits, camber, timing belt, clutch master cylinder, head gasket etc are actually NOT foreign words to me.

a/c systems for cars also come as a " 4-120" i.e. 4 windows down @ 120mph

Guys

Guys actually find great joy in their cars and it can be quite contagious too. It is possible to talk and think about cars & other vehicles for over 24hours and nothing else well besides food of course!

Women can be into cars just as well as guys could, but I seem to still be slower at remembering the mechanics of it.

Having a two-door car can really limit the amount of passengers you have with you. This is most times a good thing.

Do not try to come between men and their cars it is a hopeless battle. Just compromise and try to understand and soon enough youll have the bug too!!

This one involved a certain Ford Laser with a 1500 and a 5fwd 'box. The jump was prob for a good 8 ft and into the other lane... Steering was turned in mid-air, car returned to standard lane just in time for oncoming traffic. Just before GoodWood Park heading west.

Reminded me of another night where another lesson was learned:

When you dodge a car coming in the opposite direction through a chicane as it recklessly takes the middle of the road, you end up hanging your left wheels into the dirt. Skills from Gran Turismo come in handy to go sideways twice until your automatic Lancer 1.5 gets straight, just in time for the bridge at the end of the chicane, all at a paltry 60km/h. This one was driving from Kay Donna to the (once silver now) orange bridge.

I keep hearing from mechanics that this damages an automatic transmission

However in my Honda Manual, it says exactly what u said. I still don't shift it like a tiptronic just to be on the safe side, what do you think?

Manual shifting is fine, once you stay in VTEC....

OH HELL YEAH I know oh too well about that jump, I try to get the back left wheel off the road to make sure I stay in the lane. Once saw a guy fly over both lanes and end up in the drain
