Last year, the import drag racers made an attempt to run their Pro RWD cars in IHRA Pro Stock and were summarily dismissed.
Last week, Orlando's Titan Motorsports entered their Pro RWD car in the ADRL Extreme 10.5" class at Rockingham, no less. ADRL Extreme 10.5" class has one rule: you must run a 10.5" tire. In its first attempt to compete with a 10.5" tire, not only did they beat the monster V-8s on a 1/8-mile track, they ran 4.335 and the class record is 4.326!
The V-8 crowd just cannot equate 1800+hp from a stock block import 6-cyl (2JZ) that makes no noise . In the finals, the competition played the staging-duel game in an attempt to psyche out and burn out the import and maybe mess up it's spoolup routine. Maybe the IHRA Pro Stockers knew something after all.
This is a video of all the runs .. enjoy the staging duel.
