PS3: DualShock 3 control pad

After much rumour and hear� say, one of the worst kept videogame industry secrets of 2007 was officially confirmed by Sony at the Tokyo Game Show today - the unveiling of a DualShock 3 control pad for the PlayStation 3 that features force feedback.

The announcement was made by the firm's president, Kaz Hirai, in his keynote speech at the event. He explained that the joypad "inherits the basic design and functionality of the popular PlayStation controller, while keeping the high-precision, high response motion sensitive SIXAXIS sensing system." Pah, and they said it couldn't be done!

The spangly new, weightier, DualShock 3 will be made available in Japan from this November, while westerners will have to wait until next spring to get their grubby mitts on the upgraded controller.
