A new supercharger kit boosts power for the for the SUVs 4.8L V8 to 612hp (456kW)
German tuner Lumma Design will be unveiling an extensively modified Porsche Cayenne GTS at this year's Essen Motor Show in Germany. Set to debut near the end of this month, the Lumma Design CLR 550 R takes the latest Porsche Cayenne GTS and gives it a new aerodynamic profile, as well as improved power and handling to make the Cayenne GTS even more potent.
The most striking modification is the eye catching wide body kit, which gives the SUV a more aggressive look. Adorned in a simple monochrome color scheme, the body kit includes a larger, gaping grille to feed air into the modified engine and display an even more menacing appearance. There are also new side skirts, front and rear spoilers, vents on the hood and a very visible rear diffuser in between the custom exhaust tips.
Meanwhile, under the bonnet Lumma Design starts off with Porsche's already powerful 4.8L V8 engine, which in standard form pumps out close to 400hp. For the CLR 550 R, Lumma bolts on a supercharger, resulting in over 50% more horsepower than the stock Cayenne GTS. All 612hp (456kW) is channeled to the road through custom 23in wheels with ultra low-profile sports tires basically painted onto the rims.
To help the heavy Cayenne cope with the increased power, Lumma also installs a sports braking system to provide increased stopping power - a good idea considering the speed at which 612 horses could push around the sports SUV. The car is also lowered, and a sports suspension system is fitted to stop it rolling around during corners.
Inside, there is a two-tone leather interior and a new sports steering wheel, as well as an advanced telematics system.
