Thats odd first thing come to my mind was the fuel pump, sounding like a clog somewhere..

When this starts to happen does the car buck or its just shuts down like that without any warning...

Was the car serviced recently?

well this thing does not look like it going away soon, this morning tried to start the car won't start not even tumbeling, battrey position on starter comes on the ignition comes on but whe you try to start it does not, removed the battery poles from the battery and tapped the alternator with a wrench put back every thing and it worked.
and yes we did get a fault reading will post it soon!

Oh and that problem is not localized to me alone but nearly every one who owns one, there has to be a slove to this oh and cit# motors is a waste of #*** time as every one pretends to not have heard about it or in reality does not care about it, playing russian roulette with parts and when you done all your hard earn money gone, if i alone have to slove it i will! just like the al4 transmission all will be sloved. Evil or Very Mad

and they will see that
(Hope is the last to die)!

This is a common problem on the 1.4 8v 206's. Up to now there is no set "fix" for he problem. They have lobbied Peugeot in the UK about this, not sure what the outcome was.

I will ask David if he knows of a solution.

I think its a fault in the BSI which cuts off the communications through the multiplexed system. IT is precisely because of the multiplexing that pinpointing the cause is so hard.
