In brief

The SUV with the soul of a sports car
High-performance DISI* turbo petrol engine from Mazda MPS line-up specially tuned to meet demands of European drivers
SUV comfort, practicality and equipment, ideal for an active lifestyle
Mazda CX-7 is a unique crossover vehicle that combines SUV comfort and convenience with a sporty design and a high- performance engine. Sleek and sturdy, its sporty nature is obvious at ?rst glance with high emotional appeal in an aerodynamic design optimised to lower drag and improve driving stability.

The CX-7 enters a growing market of SUV-like crossovers in Europe that satis?ed an emerging trend towards active lifestyles. The 4,675 mm long Mazda CX-7 is a mid-sized SUV sports crossover with attributes that place it between premium SUVs and non-premium compact SUVs. The non- premium compact SUV segment is one of Europes fastest growing. In 2001, it represented less than 260,000 units, but by 2006 segment volume had grown to 541,000 units, an increase of about 108 percent. This upward trend is expected to continue to 2010, during which time the number of completely new entries to this segment will double.

Based on the MX-Crossport concept car shown at the 2005 Detroit Motor Show, the new Mazda CX-7 was initially launched in North America in the spring last year, where sales have already topped 45,000 units to date, followed by its introduction in Japan last December. It is now coming to Europe with special features such as a 6-speed manual transmission, bodyshell and powertrain updates all introduced to meet European drivers expectations. CX-7 is manufactured at Mazdas Ujina Plant No. 2 (U2) in Hiroshima, Japan.
