I hear through the grape vine that too many people putting on events.
The last Sunday School Drags had a line all out on the people highway!! Surprised

DO you think TTASA is making a conscious effort to govern the sport
by enforcing the same rules across the board, for ALL promoters?

Question Question

Man there were a few thousand people well. I don't think I have ever seen that many cars at the circuit track (where TTDRA drags are held). The masses of the 70s were re-enacted at their last event.

I think mospo in general is on the up...basically since the formation of the TTUMRA thing awhile back its just seemed to me that alot more crowds are being pulled.
Somehow somehwere everyone became smarter...first with ASPL however long ago, then TTMF on their formation, now TTKA this year....and CARSTT and TTRC just seem to be playing it as normal, keeping the steady crowds kinda thing.
The 1st 3 are no doubt on the up...the significant progress is amazing in such a short time span.
Honestly, TTDRA pretty much has the advantage that they pull a crowd that was always there, i.e. the sunday school streeters. ASPL doesn't quite have that same advanatge, so the masses they have pulled at officials are pretty remarkable as well. TTMF and TTKA have niether...those are all race cars - no road cars as in drags. That's the main reason why their crowds are smaller...as in they don't attract the guy who wants to race..only those who want to see real racing. They really deserve quite alot of credit for that - noone can deny it!
Generally though...i'm not sure what's really happened, but the only thing i can think of is the sudden pressure to improve mospo because of the loss of Wallerfield, to ensure a new facility is gained. The ads. strategies, the organisaiton and eveyrhting in general has just been on the up for each group...quite commendable.
WRT TTASA now, i don't think their role really has anything to do with anyone's progress. Perhaps in a wholistic view, the agreements reached and lessened controversy have allowed groups to place emphasis on racing itself, but generally i don;t think the sucess of any one faculty or disicpline has anything to do with TTASA. For your question, i do actually believe that there may be a bias to TTDRA as you've duly pointed out wrt crowds-but unless it is significant or increasing in such a manner that ASPL would be affected largely, i belive that matter should be kept on the down-low until a new facility is built and contorversy won;t result in the degradation of all of mospo.
Major restructure needs to occur though if a new area is built...because as is obvious from before, and what may raise its ugly head in the future, is the battle of all the promo groups but TTDRA against TTASA - not going ot be pretty and hopefuly won't happen.

Hoping peace is kept throughout and matters handled maturely and peacefully! Smile

to answer the question
NO
TTASA seems hell bent to give ASPL the hardest time of all over all the drag racing promoters
how many checks were in place for "gangsta drag" as compared to ASPL
what about safety issues and FIA license
does everyone who competes at gangsta have a licencse? is this checked??
are thier officials from TTASA present and are they walking around inspecting cars as they do for ASPL

Looks like our thread is being noticed... or others could be complaining too. I saw two officials from TTASA at a TTDRA meet, where observations were being made. MGMan was actually one of them... Kevin, want to shed some light on this Q?
