The second stage has been completed with the cars driving downwards on the technical and twisting mountainside road known as Guanajuatito.

It was BP Ford driver Marcus Grnholm's turn to take a stage, which he did by setting a fastest time of 15'12''3, only one and a half seconds ahead of Citron's Sbastien Loeb.

Four and a half seconds after team-mate Grnholm, Mikko Hirvonen took the third place of this stage. Said Hirvonen: I need to keep it up.

Loeb team-mate Dani Sordo completes the team alternations by coming in fourth. Jari-Matti Latvala follows for Stobart with Chris Atkinson right behind for Subaru, therefore keeping the same positions they had in the previous stage.

Henning Solberg drove in his Stobart Ford to to seventh, followed by Manfred Stohl's OMV Kronos Citron. Nothing I can do, set-up is okay added Stohl.

Stobart driver Matthew Wilson took ninth : No real problem with the car. A lot of places are getting quite rough but it's okay.

Munchi's Ford ends the first ten list thanks to Luis Perez Companc, who had a few complaints : "Lots of gravel. On top of that I had no brakes!"

There have not been many changes on the leaderboard positions.
Sbastien Loeb is still on top with a 1'00'4'' lead, while Marcus Grnholm maintains his second-place with over a half-minute lead on the next contender.

Mikko Hirvonen is building some distance however he now stands with 10''7 seconds over Dani Sordo, a four-second addition to the gap building up between them. Chris Atkinson remains fifth in the overall rankings but almost doubled his delay to 29 seconds.

Rally Mexico leader Sbastien Loeb admitted he decided to keep up the speed in order to maintain his buffer time, adding I am trying to keep the concentration up without taking any risks. The car is ready to fight but it is not easily leading.

Again, a few spectators have been throwing stones at the competitors with some windshields being slightly damaged.

One stage and one Super-Special to go for Rally Mexico.
