Ferrari celebrated their 60th anniversary in Melbourne on Saturday, as part of the build-up to the Australian Grand Prix. The star attraction, a demonstration run by tester Marc Gene in the 248 F1, down Lygon Street, located in the heart of the citys Little Italy district, drew tens of thousands of spectators.
Today was a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a magnificent Ferrari Formula One car right in the heart of the citys iconic Little Italy precinct, enthused Tim Bamford, CEO of the Australian Grand Prix Corporation. It was brilliant to see so many families enjoying an entire day of free entertainment with the main attraction of course being the low-speed demonstration drive of the very same car driven by the sports most prolific driver, Michael Schumacher, in last years Formula One World Championship season.
The assembled crowd were also entertained with a variety of other attractions during the days festivities, including a low-speed parade of modern and historic Ferrari road cars, live bands, roving entertainment and ticket giveaways.
The 2007 Australian Grand Prix will take place from March 15-18.
