Binnie Motorsports is pleased to announce their driver line-up for the 2007 racing season, and will be competing in the 6 Le Mans Series (LMS) races and the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in this years race calendar. The drivers for the team will be Bill Binnie, Allen Timpany and Chris Buncombe. Test driver for the team will be Sam Hancock.

Team owner Bill Binnie stated We are really excited about our driver line up for the year and we will have both continuity and new blood in the form of Chris so we think that we will have one of the stronger overall packages of drivers on the LMP2 grid. Allen has shown his faith in the team by joining us again and we are really delighted by that, he became quicker and quicker last year and had some of the fastest laps on the team in a number of races. Chris is a consummate pro and he is both quick and highly experienced and knowledgeable of all the tracks except for Le Mans. Frankly, I believe that overall we are a stronger team than last year and we have moved the quality and capabilities of our driver line-up forward for 2007.

Bill Binnie, the team owner and driver is highly experienced and the 2004 LMP2 Le Mans 24 Hour Champion. He has dozens of race wins to his credit and this year will mark his 4th Le Mans. Last year, 2006, Bill had five (5) podiums including the Sebring 12 Hours (3 rd in class), Le Mans 24 Hours (2nd in class), Spa 1000k (2nd in class), Donington 1000k (3rd in class) and Nurburgring (3rd in class).

Allen Timpany is joining the team for the third year and has had notable success in 2006 including a 2nd last year with the team at the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2006 he scored a total of five (5) podiums including the Sebring 12 Hours (3rd in class), Le Mans 24 Hours (2nd in class), Spa 1000k (2nd in class), Donington 1000k (3rd in class) and Nurburgring (3rd in class).

The new driver to the team in 2007 is the highly experienced and very quick professional driver Chris Buncombe. The 27 year old London based Englishman is perhaps better known for his impressive performances onboard the JMB Racing Maserati MC12, and latterly the Monagasque teams Ferrari F575 in the FIA GT Series over the past 3 seasons. He is relishing the opportunity to contribute to his new team.

Im really pleased to be driving in the LMS and Le Mans this year. It is my first proper experience of an LMP car and my first time at Le Mans but Im thoroughly looking forward to the challenge. Im excited to be a part of the Binnie Motorsports organization. I have met the guys in the Team and they are a fantastic group of people and have shown over the past few seasons that they have a professional approach, with a reliable and competitive package so Im sure we will be fighting for the LMP2 crown again during the year.

He added I would like to thank Bill Binnie for giving me this opportunity and look forward to a successful season with the Team.
