Motoring enthusiasts will have the opportunity to fantasise over some of the world's most desirable cars at the Durban Motor Show including a Rolls-Royce Phantom, Aston Martin coupes, and Lamborghini Gallardos.
Daytona Group, the Sandton-based luxury car retailer, that recently took over the South African agency for Rolls-Royce will have a super-luxurious Phantom saloon on display, alongside two mouth-watering Aston Martin coupes a DB9 and V8 Vantage.
Interestingly, South Africa is now the third biggest market for Aston Martin in the world, only outsold by the United Kingdom and the United States. Last year 110 Aston Martins were retailed in South Africa, with the Vantage being the most popular model in the range.
Lamborghini will have not one but two examples of the dramatically-styled 5.0-litre V10 Gallardo at the show a bright orange coupe and the newly-launched convertible with an electronic-hydraulic folding soft-top.
And two GT40 kit cars should grab the attention of petrolheads.
The local motoring newspaper, Testdriven, will also have some stunning exotics and unique vehicles on display on their stand. These include a Bentley Continental, the new Mercedes-Benz CL500, Cobra road and race cars as well as the Lotus Europa and Exige. The latter may be compact in size but they are certainly big on performance!
The Testdriven stand will also preview the new Land Rover Freelander 2 and the Volkswagen Polo Cross both of which will be launched in South Africa later this year.
The Standard Bank Durban Motor Show is being held at the Durban Exhibition Centre from 21-25 March.
