I thought I'd test out the camera on my phone. I never realy bought a phone for it's camera befor, I bought it because it was a phone, lol!
I have the Sony Ericsson K510. Quite a common phone but good imho for the price. It is a mid range phone that has a 1.3mp camera on it.
If you are on location, and you have left your camera home, you may be able to whip out your phone and take some semi decent pictures. you may have to take several pics befor you get the right shot. Also, your subjects should be relatively still and in good lighting as there is no exposure control and in this case no flash. You also will not get minute details in most cases as you would with traditional cameras.
Here are pics from two locations. I have reduced their size for loading but that is all I did to them.

wow, looks good for a phone camera. Most times its down to the photographer and not the equipment |
