Unbelievable but true - Guyana Story

This one is for Narend who thinks this is all bullshyt, but believe me this story can be verified!!!
So, we in Guyana( circa 1992-4) and just completed a great day of karting( the trini boys blow them away). All of us staying by a well-to-do family( the Rods) in Bel-Air. This place is the Beverly Hills of Guyana at the time. With the usual guyanese hospitality, they organise a little party/lime at the house for everyone after racing. Man, the lime going good - bar-b-que, music, drinks in a big way, shite talk - yuh know how it is.

All of a sudden - WAPS!!!! Lights cut off, music cut off----Darkness and quiet.

" Nah warry, dis ah happen al d time," says Mr. Rod, and like most houses in that area, the man go to the back and start the trusty generator. RRRRRRRRR, generator start up, extension cord for so, lights back on, music back on and party start again, but with the constant sound of RRRRRRRRRRR in the background. This is a usual thing in Guyana and you could see the people prepared and unbothered.

All of a sudden - WAPS!!!! Lights cut off, music cut off --- Darkness and quiet again.

Well, everybody listening now for the RRRRRRRR of the generator, which going on as usual. But next thing we know and everybody get confused, was the following sound which i will try to convey in text -

RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Man, some men run away with the people generator. Yuh actually hearing the generator getting further and further away. Please note the middle change in tone which we attribute to when they jump over the back wall with it. Yuh coulda actually hear that too. Well, yuh could imagine we in shock and still confused by what going on. Amazingly enough, Mr. Rod with a totally calm face, not even moving a muscle and with total nonchalance say -

" Buoy, dey tief meh generator"

The man was unfazed!!!! And with that, we light some candles, battery powered cassette player( remember them) and party start again.

So, i know there will be those skeptics who think this story all made up, but believe or don't believe, don't matter to me ---- all i know is if yuh going Guyana walk with yuh torchlight!!!!!!
