Event Log :
October 2006 - EvoScan v0.97 PreRelease version released.
September 2006 - EvoScan v0.9 PreRelease version released.
July 2006 - EvoScan v0.8 PreRelease version released.
June 2006 - EvoScan v0.7 PreRelease version released.

Project Goal:
To support all Mitsubishi MUT-II(JOBD)/MUT-III and Subaru SSM Protocol and Nissan datalogging protocol Models

Note: Only US DSMs/Eclipse and US EVO8/9 support the universal standard OBDII datalogging tools. For japanese imports, other standard OBDII dataloggers will not work. EvoScan is what you need. EvoScan still works with those US Models, although better and faster than the universal standard OBDII datalogging tools, since the Mitsubishi MUT-II(JOBD) Protocol runs 50% faster than ISO9141-2! Using Bez Acceleration runs 400% faster than ISO9141-2!

Current Data Logger Features: EvoScan v0.97
1) Supports ALL 1996+ Mitsubishi Vehicles.
2) Log data to screen.
3) Log data to csv (Excel) file. (log format revised.)
4) XML Data Settings File.
5) DataLogging speed optimisations - up to 200 data items per second!
7) Simultaneous synced WideBand serialport meter Logging Support
- Innovate LM-1 Wideband Oxygen Sensor logging support.
- Innovate LC-1 Wideband Oxygen Sensor logging support.
- AEM Uego Wideband Oxygen Sensor logging support.
- Zeitronix Zt-2 Wideband Oxygen Sensor loggingsupport.

8 ) Logging SuperSpeed option (up to 200 total samples per second logging!)
9) main EFI ecu data logging items (ABS/AYC/DTC ecu data items to follow)

18 ) Lots of other Wideband brand support.
19) Other features as requested by users.

EvoScan Supported Hardware Cables:

1) FTDI EvoScan OBDII cable - uses a built in FTDI FT232BM USB-Serial adapter.
- Supports All 1996+ Vehicles for datalogging.
- Pre-Order now $80US - Available December 2006.
2) FTDI OpenPort 1.3M OBDII cable - uses a built in FTDI FT232BM USB-Serial adapter.
- Colby Boles - http://www.tactrix.com/ ($89US)
- Supports Mitsubishi Lancer Evo4 if obdii pins 1 and 4 are joined, to enter diagnostic mode.
- advantage of this cable is that it supports ecuflash (factory ecu flash tuning and programming) currently only for Evo7/8/9 (Evo5/6 TBA)
3) HomeMade for Electronics minded people: beware not many OBDII cables support 15625baudrate.
What you can do is buy a FT232BM($20US+) based usb-serial adapter because this chipset supports any baudrate you like, the PC standard comport cant physically support 15625bps, with the usb adapter then convert the serial adapter voltage levels to obdII levels +0v/+12v using an optoisolater circuit like Andy Whittakers or Jeff Noxon, or use a MAX232 chipset circuit like MMCd.($20US)

EvoScan Registration:
1) EvoScan Registration is $25US Register Now to Download EvoScan v0.9 - $25US
- this will allow me to purchase expensive third party charting and gauge controls to make this the best looking and best functioning datalogger around.
- with registration you will get future releases.
- if you want a new feature added, this will be added for you with priority.
- you will get emailed latest updates released.
- full evoscan vb.net sourcecode is available for non-redistributable personal use.
- Using this datalogger will allow you to successfully see what your car is doing before and after you use tools such as EcuFlash or Aftermarket Controllers such as SAFC-II to tune your car. And you can save and send your results to your openecu buddies to oggle over, and others with EvoScan can even play back your results without being plugged into a car.
- Using the alerting features of EvoScan could alert you to a bad tune or bad fuel, i.e Detonation Knock Counts, Temperatures, A/F ratios and potentially saving you your engine.

Supported Vehicles:
1) 1996+ Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IV/V/VI/VII/VIII/IX (133->180/total samples per second)
2) 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ (180->200/total samples per second)
3) 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse (133->200/total samples per second)
4) 1996+ Mitsubishi Vehicles (All OBDII supported vehicles)
5) Subaru SSM protocol - support to follow (Any serial obdII adapter that will support 4800baudrate)
6) Nissan vehicles (I have a lot of Nissan protocol information - support to follow)

Supported Operating Systems:
1) Windows XP SP2
2) Windows Server 2003 SP1
3) Windows Vista Beta 2

Laptop Requirements:
Requires installation of Hardware Cable USB FTDI drivers (installed with ecuflash, or download from www.ftdichip.com )
Requires installation of Microsoft .NET Framework v1.1
Otherwise you'll get this message: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)." - to fix install MS .NET Framework v1.1
Basically if the laptop can run Windows XP fine, then the software will also be fine.
Ever since EvoScan v0.8, the software runs really fast, even on 500Mhz machines.
To get maximum speed:
- Disable Log To Screen, and Enable Logging Superspeed.
- Less effect is noticed on 2000ghz laptops with a/c power, but slower laptops or laptops running off the battery benefit a lot of speed!

XML really is the language of the future. I gotta take an XML class before I leave college. For US$ 25, I think this is deal of the year...especially seeing as there still isn't a 4WD dyno...not to mention the money this will save you avoiding long, expensive dyno sessions. You'll be able to do most of your tuning on the street.

I've purchased the software and will be experimenting with it over the Christmas break. I'll post feedback soon.
