BMW and PSA Peugeot-Citroen have signed a new partnership, which this time regards the development of some joint components for hybrid models.
Seen as one of the best welded partnerships in auto industry, the joint between BMW and the French group PSA Peugeot-Citroen will continue within the next years. More precisely, the two European conglomerates will work together in the future also in the hybrid models segment, in order to give this growing market the appropriate importance.
he partnership was signed yesterday by the officials of the two big automakers, Norbert Reithofer, of BMW and Phillipe Varin, of PSA. The deal includes common development of parts designed for rear wheel drive hybrid models. So, thanks to this partnership, the development and the production will be made with smaller costs for both sides.
BMW and Peugeot-Citroen have both agreed not to unveil the financial aspects of the deal. The new joint comes only weeks after BMW and the French signed another partnership, the one that stipulated the joint development of four-cylinder petrol engine, capable of respecting the Euro 6 regulations regarding CO2 emissions and end under the hood of the Citroen, Peugeot and Mini models.
