Franklyn had his initial tests on Wednesday after his horrific crash on Sunday - those who were there know of what i speak - check for coverage on the homepage soon!
He was found to have sustained two fractured ribs, and has a large bruise on the top of his head. He is currently resting at home, and is experiencing some pain both in his chest and head.
He can't remember anything of the crash - his last memory is losing traction going onto the back straight and attempting to correct his slide - everthing else after is just a blur to him.
His pit crew believe it is due to the tires, as he was on a new set. The lack of warmth in the track as well as track time (due to a minor gearbox problem preventing him from taking any testing time earlier in the day) meant that his tires were not properly scrubbed, and thus this may have been the major factor resulting in his loss of grip.

In other news, Mark Singh has revealed that he plans to enter Gr. 2A soon, hence his absence from the track on Sunday.
Also found out that Franklyn's Civic, which was packing a bored/stroked B20, is soon to be turboed, although the engine has to be changed after the first meet this year when it blew.

With respect to the meet on Sunday, it turned out to be a great success with everyone who came being fully satisfied, as well as the Bajans being pleased with the way everything was run. A hearty thank you to them for coming and giving their all from the Trini crew!
There was a sore note however, this being the accident Franklyn was involved in. Thus, a few drivers (mainly Tola's team thus far i believe) have called for removal of the wall next to the back straight and its replacement with a sand trap and tires. Whether this materialises is highly dependent on ETECK etc., however let's hope it plays out for the best and we shan't see any boycotting of races.

Many newcomers to the circuit scene wrere thrilled at what went down on Sunday, and have already stated their interest in returning to the Wallerfield circuit track for the remainder of the meets. Look forward to seeing y'all there!

Glad to hear the encouraging news on Franklyn. For those who saw this accident, this is certainly minimal injury for the severity of the impact and what actually transpired.

However we all have to be concerned about similar incidents happening with cars WITHOUT roll Cages.

The sand trap would be a definite improvement with other areas being also looked at.

For example, where the Escort ran off on Friday.

Can another car run off at the same spot? Yes.

Were spectators in that same spot on Sunday. Yes.

So let us all look at safety in a bigger way and try to improve on this all around. We all would like to see Circuit get back to the top of the class and some serious efforts are certainly being made by all parties.

But let us not forget Gerard Carringtons successful return to circuit racing and the battles he promise to have with Daniel in the coming months.

Well I agree that the positioning of people / spectators around the track is of utmost importance. I feel that more attention should be paid to this aspect of motor racing.

Good to hear that Franklyn is healing well.

Hope to see him back soon Exclamation
