Anyone can give some background info on these cars?...like specs, reliability, performance, maintenance etc.... the works? I am seriously contemplating on buying the 1.9D Turbo(car) and maybe a Gti-6 engine or complete frontcut.

Nice engines for tunning; in terms of reliability & maintenance i can assume they are good..Any performance engines would have its costs. These engines have been around quite some time so they should not be trouble makers.

Just do your normal maintenance and i am sure you will be safe.
What mileage are the engines doing? That might give you an idea if you have to change parts such as timing belts etc.

Below is the engine specifications.

Gti-6

Not really, however if u buy the gti6 i think u have to run that manual 6 speed ( i could be wrong) Pug diesels i have zero idea and not sure if any was sold in this country, u should inquire from pug dealers and parts places if they do carry parts for this engine.

With the Gti6 i cannnot see u having problems getting wear & tear parts then again inquire for this engine, the only problem i see if there is certain component (s) that are made for the gti6 which may have to be outsourced.

for the Diesel...yes one car came into Trinidad...that's the one I am buying...ABS brakes, Air Bags front and back, AC, fully powered, manual...mileage is around 75K more or less....less is more likely.
The Gti-6 I am trying to get a complete front cut or a complete engine from England...but the ones I enquired on have already been sold into England...
