fellas it have some bad press wrt to allyuh at ARC on the 18th and 19th of March 2006.
it has always been my understanding that ARC would not like to be associated with accident on their compound arising from dex, or now TTKA. bad publicity, stress (noise. ex.crash, wrecker, ambulance) to horses, and as such dex members do attempt to keep some levels of safety. i plead with you to continue doing the same. as well as respond to your bad press.
Quote:
ust got word that the Karting people were using ARC's Car Park yesterday (Saturday) to practice for their event on Sunday, and there was Horse Racing yesterday and the members of ARC were not allowed to use the car park and had to park thier cars on the side of the road.
Needless to say the members are furious about this and are going to take it to the board to BAN all auto sports from using the Car Park at ARC......
Quote:
Karting was called off after 3 rounds when a shifter kart lost control on the final corner and ran into the scorer's table. A young girl sitting at the table suffered some minor injuries and was taken to hospital.
It could have been a lot worse as there were many spectators to the left of the scorer's table, including myself. Follow the skid marks..
Quote:
the young lady behind the laptop who was recordin lap positions got a lash on her knee. ramesh bhola got minor cuts, his daughter got the most amt of lash from the kart cuz it ran straight into her...his wife an well got a few minors cuts as well..i was standin next to dem wen it happened but move away in time...
his daughter's at mt.hope gettin x-rays etc. jus waitin on a call from his son to find out if she has ne major injuries...so far the chest x ray is good an jus waitin on d leg ones now...wen i get news bout her results ill let u guys no..
apparently the guy in the kart lost control on the final turn on d lap an hit a bumpy section an collided wit a cone an spun outta control directly into the control tower....
the sad part too of this afternoon is that SKF got totalled in the beginning of the race wen hunt spun an landed ontop his kart damaging the engine...ryan got out the kart an pelt two cones an hunt wen he was makin his next lap...
Quote:
hunt also revved his engine and tried to get off of ryan's kart in a hurry,
regardless of if ryan was ok or his wheels were in contact with ryan
after landing on top of his kart,
somewhat unsportsmanlike

yuh see dis karting business.....
i find it hurting solodex...
1.ah see ah man say...dat dem practicing on a sat...and preventing people from parking while horse racing on...
2. dis accident....maaannn....tings like this gonna make ARC stop all auto sports in dey car park...

from what I have seen, karting not too concerned with what implications their actions will have on Dex. Ironic considering some of the individuals who have been supposedly trying to unite all motorsport bodies to oust the evil TTASA seems its more like 'fork anybody who get run over by my actions'

Firstly i was not at this Karting event
I was in florida attending the 12 hours of Le mans at Sebring

The present commitee will have to deal with any problems if There is any..I am not the person to respond to this as i have no idea what took place.

I do know that the TTKA had permission to practise on Saturday.

Were you there?

no chief,
i wasn't there and would have gotten everything 2nd hand, like yourself.
i wanted to hear you guys response to some of these comments, rather than jumping on the bandwagon.

kamikaze did state ttka had permission to use the car park on saturday.
that was a bit odd to many based on instances in the past when ARC had races.

now about this

When this occurs there is only so much a driver can do...And the kart may sound like its revving up usually because the wheels are off the ground. Some marshall would need to help in this situation or leave it until eventually the karts come off each other which most likely occured in this case and probally quick.so honestly it happens and there not much that can be done once the karts are on top each other

oh ok cool.

i guess without the resistance of the ground, the engine will put out so much at idle, that it will accelerate the wheels if suspended?

Well i will try my hardest to answer these questions but i'm really waiting until they call a meeting to hear what the comitee has to say

Now the person driving the sifter kart involved in the tent accident was infact a beginer and this raises a few concerns why was he allowed to race as a shifter is a serious machine which requires skill and you to be extremely fit as its a good work out to drive them both physically and mentally. There is even rules about new drivers entering in shifter but i will leave it here until i hear from the commitee

Glad you understand..
The karting club is not in anyway trying or want to hurt any other motosport in trinidad. The club did speak and meet with ARC concerning use of the car park.So they knew what is expected of them and know when and how they can use the area,Now being a member for some time i know TTKA would not go against ARC wishes.I still await to hear from the comitee

Now I know you said you were'nt there and I was not there as well but I cant believe that this happened. I have never spoken to Ryan however, I know whether he is competing his race car or kart, he is a serious racer and from what people have said about him, he is not the type to pelt cones at other competitors whether what happens in a race ... he might be disappointed but I am shocked to hear that this is what transpired ... and to Gary Hunt as well .... aren't they not good friends .... Maybe I am misunderstanding the statement .. I dunno ... but if it did happened, I dont think that should re-occur in the future ... It looks bad on motorsports and shows a lack of comradeship .....

BTW - How was the Le Mans ??
