The car is still wearing mild disguise, but it appears to be a production-ready version of the car. The car will be offered in MINI Cooper (120 hp) and Cooper S (175 hp) guise. Both cars are powered by a 1.6 liter four-cylinder engine. The MINI Cooper reaches its peak 120 horsepower output at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 118 lb-ft at 4,250 rpm. It features Valvetronic technology for an added edge over the previous model. The turbocharged Cooper S makes 175 hp at 5,500 rpm, and peak torque of 177 lb-ft comes at just 1,600 rpm. While the 2.76-inch-longer exterior is mostly evolutionary, BMW describes the new interior as "revolutionary." However, no images of the cabin have been released. For increased safety, curtain airbags now protect all passengers.

I like the fact that even with the euro-bonnet legislation, they managed to keep the front end looking 'proper'
However, considering they introducing a new engine, they could at least improved the power. 120bhp up from 115 in the Cooper is not much to play with, considering an entry-level Versa has the same 120. Similarly, 175 for the S is silly considering everything in its class is running close to 200.......the cars handle nicely, but u always yearn for that extra kick, especially when the guy in the TypeR and RS grinning like monkeys as they pass u on the hiway

I hope the cockpit is not flooded with cheap plastic like the current range. That was the most disappointing aspect of teh new MIni
