150 fleet managers chose the Peugeot 308 SW as Compact Company Car of the Year 2008, in Europe�s largest comparative road test.

The participants in the �Company Car of the Year� selection process are proven car experts. They manage a fleet stock well in excess of 100,000 cars in Germany and have an enormous amount of purchasing power at their disposal.

�This award is testament to the true versatility and European style of the new 308 SW. The Peugeot designers have truly reflected the demands of our customers in crafting this good looking and fun to drive vehicle� said John Keenan general manager of Peugeot in New Zealand.

�Many of our customers have diverse needs from business requirements for load capacity and staff transport to families who need to fit up to seven passengers in their vehicle. But they do not want to compromise on their values in respect to driving an attractive and fuel efficient vehicle, with low CO2 emissions and a fuel efficient 2.0 litre diesel six speed automatic transmission� Keenan concluded.

The accolade is awarded by the automotive journal FIRMENAUTO and the German test organisation DEKRA. At Europa Park in Rust, the fleet experts tested 63 vehicle models in nine categories over a period of two days.

A total of 126 cars were tested and approximately 50,000 kilometers were covered during more than 1,900 road tests. One overall winner and one imported winner were named for each category, therefore a total of eighteen models were honoured with the title �Company Car of the Year�.

The vehicles were divided into the following categories - Microcar, Small Car, Compact Class, Mid Range, Top Class, Luxury Vehicle, Off-Road Vehicle/SUV, Mini/ Compact Van and Large Van.

After each road test, the fleet managers graded the cars with respect to drive characteristics, comfort and, in particular, economy.
