The interior of the Scuderia Spider 16M is decked out in carbon-fiber and Alcantara
Ferrari has released a detailed virtual-tour of the cockpit of the upcoming Scuderia Spider 16M, a lighter, more performance oriented version of the Ferrari F430 Spider. Users can look around the cars interior as if they were sitting there themselves, and small information boxes scattered throughout the virtual tour illuminate certain details about the supercar.
Looking more like a stripped out racer than a supercar, the Scuderia Spider 16M firmly places the emphasis on the performance side of Ferrari. It comes with a new, more purposeful version of the Racing Manettino steering-wheel featuring a number of new elements to make the car even more formidable on the track, including a CT traction setting which eliminates traction control but still engages the stability control system.
The Scuderia Spider 16M was launched a couple of weeks ago as part of Ferraris celebrations for its 16th F1 Constructors title. Ferrari is already boasting that the new Scuderia Spider is faster around the Fiorano circuit than any previous open-top Prancing Horse, and has also revealed that just 499 examples will be produced.
The Scuderia Spider 16M is available in a choice of two new color schemes: the standard version is black with grey trim, while a tricolor livery is also available as part of the Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation Programme. The new car also sports a special plaque on its rear grille commemorating Ferrari's 16th Constructor's World title. The interior is also underscored by the silver "limited series" plaque just above the air vents at the center of the dashboard. Other exclusive features include a roll-bar with a carbon-fiber outer shell and an audio system that can be combined with the removable customized Ferrari iPod Touch 16GB media player. Check out our previous story for more details, including all the technical info and performance numbers. Otherwise, head over to the Ferrari site to take the virtual look around.
