Doh forget dat E=MC (Energy=Mass x Speed of light)
E (Performance) = M (Proton) X C (4G63) Twisted Evil Laughing
BTW if yuh go this option, add a "loose" front LSD and better brakes (Brembos), and leave
the engine stock. Idea .. even if yuh add ah smaller MIVEC, or 4G93 turbo-motor to it,
(best option IMO) yuh get a damn nice "daily driver." Twisted Evil

Useful Data: Proton cars: Gen 2 Persona Satria Waja
On July 9, 1985, the first Proton rolled off the assembly line. A year later, Proton had already captured 60% of the Malaysian domestic passenger vehicle market when the Proton Saga was exported to the UK. This car went on to win awards at the prestigious British International Motor Show for three consecutive years.

By 1992, Proton was ready to become a public listed company. The name was changed to Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Berhad.

Two new models were quickly introduced - the Wira (Persona) in 1993 followed by the very successful Satria in 1994.

The Perdana, together with the Putra Coupe, have continued the successful expansion of the range.

The company is now exporting to 49 countries including Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, Saudi Arabia, Africa, Australia and the Asia Pacific. It has taken just 14 years for Proton to gain significant international presence.

Built and designed in Malaysia

Proton has always been committed to manufacturing cars locally which are recognised internationally.

The use of automation and robotics in the manufacturing process has contributed to increased cost-efficiency, reliability and quality. Research and Development is considered to be Proton's most important activity, and innovation is fundamental to the company's development.

There are Proton dealerships located in Melbourne , Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, Perth, Hobart, Canberra (most suburbs) and regional Australia. Most dealers also deal some other make at the same dealer. Few dealers offer a worthwhile extended warranty for Proton, however.

IMHO if total budget is a problem... then SR20 may be an answer (less expensive, more parts).
Better alternative might be 4G93 turbo-motor.
Less power (205 hp) but good milage, durable and flexible.
Should cost about the same as SR20, and should be much easier installation, as they come
with n/a 4G93 too; so re-sale value is higher.
BTW Don't forget SR20DET may need Brembos too for safety (see below*)

BadAzz 4G63 (280-300 hp) is only an option if yuh triple de budget.
You'll have to upgrade brakes. Drive-train may have to be upgraded too.
Can you say Brembos Question Can you say $6-7000 Question Shocked
Trust me, even the all-wheel disc brakes from a Mitsu 1800 GSR are not enough for
a 4G63 turbo-motor. They are only enough (barely) for a 4G93T... (Mitsu 1800 GSR)
I have one... Sometimes the brakes fade too (stock engine). You'll need Brembos... period Exclamation

BTW If your model car has the cam-gear(s) on the passenger's side (left) then
use a US Eclipse 4G63 turbo-motor (transfer-case for 4wd) and box.

If your model car has the cam-gear(s) on the driver's side (right) then you must
use a JDM (Evo 4-8 ) 4G63 turbo-motor, (transfer-case for 4wd) and box.
This one is VERY expen$ive (more than twice the price.) Shocked

IMHO the best "streetable" option is a 4G93 turbo, (+ front brakes) especially for FWD.
Add a boost-controller and there yuh go... 230-240 hp. Cool

My $0.01 Very Happy
