A = Spark Plugs
B = Spark Plugs
C = ? (appears to be ignition coils too)
D = Ignition Coils

A is connected to D
B appears to be connected to C

Please explain how do the plugs fire. Is there a distributor?
If not how do the plugs know when to fire?
What are C? It appears that B is connected to C...is this true?

Could you please explain how this system works?

Thanks.

Leh meh try tuh explain as much as I know (which isn't that much BTW)
These engines have leading and trailing sparks...
A is connected to D, the leading plugs connected to the leading coils and B is connected to C, the trailing plugs to the trailing coils..
This system has no distributor, the spark is fired by a stock igniter.

That should explain the picture. How the system works in detail I cyah help yuh on that one, you'll probably get more info from some rotary sites....

http://auto.howstuffworks.com/rotary-engine7.htm

judging from the animation here.
it seems it uses the two sparks (leading and trailing) to ensuure the fullcombustion of the air fuel mixture.

I have to learn about this igniter thingee.Right now we having problems with a rotary,the distributor is electronic, but the module for one set of plugs keeps blowing out....we currently are running on one set of plugs...it would be nice to try this setup...and get rid of the distributor.

I'll research the igniter thingee....

thanks by-the-way Cool

ps I love Rotary!

OK demented, what exactly do you need to know about the igniter? Is your engine injected? It doesn't sound like it since you are carrying an electronic distributer....If this is the case the igniter system will not work for you. The ECU controlls the spark to the igniter...

For the problem you are having you need to check the coil feeding the module that is blowing...is it wired properly? are the wires shorting? is the coil defective?
