Renault F1 test driver Sakon Yamamoto has been tipped to race for the Charouz Systems Lola Aston Martin team in the 2009 Le Mans Series, after testing the LMP1 coupe at Brno last week, according to this week's Autosport.
The Japanese driver, who competed in grands prix for Super Aguri and Spyker, is in the frame to drive a second Lola alongside the regular Stefan Mucke/Jan Charouz car, which scored a podium in the Autosport 1000km earlier this month.
"We know Sakon's people very well and they are interested in him doing some sportscars next year," said team owner Toni Charouz. "He is young, fast and has good sponsors behind him."
Pescarolo driver Harold Primat and GT reguler Miguel Ramos are also under consideration.
