The newer pickups including the Hilux are now being assembled in Thailand. (Not sure where the Frontiers are being assembled). I'll take my chances with Japan. I'll also like the Mazda (the Rangers are more or less the same thing) but parts are expensive.
Hilux are the strongest 4x4 and have proven themselves. In Australia, they're considered 'unbreakable'. They're the most durable. I had a 97 Hilux and upgraded to the 2003 SR5. Not sure how the new models will hold out. I know of a couple problems with the new ones.
The SR5 are fully loaded and they're features are comparable to the other pickups (ABS, Airbags, CD player, Moon roof, alloy rims, 3.0 turbo diesel, etc etc). |
