Roll Control Suspension
Roll Control Suspension (RCS) effectively reduces body roll and pitching by
hydraulically connecting all the shock absorbers together and regulating their
damping pressures as necessary. Able to control both roll and pitching stiffness
separately, RCS can operate in a variety of ways. It can, for example, reduce roll
only when required during "turn in" or in other situations while being set up on the
soft side to prioritize tire contact and ride comfort. Since the system controls
roll stiffness hydraulically, it eliminates the need for stabilizer bars.

In the integrated control of its component systems, S-AWC employs information
from RCS's hydraulic system to estimate the tire load at each wheel.

Yup, I agree with you. A little too smooth and rounded IMHO; especially the rear.
It looks a little too executive "fat-cat" style, like the newer Galant IMHO.
I prefer the Gen 2 (E4-E6) styling... More "hard edged"... More aggressive.


... and I absolutely hate the modern "Big-mouth / No-teeth" look of the front grill.
Everybody (Audi et al) seems to be going in that styling direction, but....
Yuck!... Enough already!


... but with "Roll Control" (if they get it right!)...
I'll put garbage bags over the front and back bumpers...
if they give me one free! Laughing

I remember reading a quote somewhere by the designer of the evo X that the "Big-mouth / No-teeth" design was the only way he could figure out to get enough airflow through the engine bay that the engineers demanded. He went through quite a few concepts trying to keep the styling closer to the traditional evo but eventually had to give in.

Welcome arpad. Can you post a link to the styling article?
It would help. There may be more info on other new systems of the X as well. Very Happy

From the very little that I read, the (French/Belgium ???) designer is "ex-Audi" (???) and that influenced his design??? Confused

�But the first thing is functionality, 100 percent. It has to be faster, leaner and lighter. It has to go through the air better and you have to think about cooling. You style the headlights so that they work better, not just look better. It�s pure function really. We thought early in the car�s development about doing a coupe as well but being a four-door is central to its character. You have to have room in the back and good boot space, but you need to make the roofline more aerodynamic to improve top speed. You just connect the lines and you get this shape.�

with the new Active Yaw Control and new Active Braking systems in snow... Click Here!
