Davidson, Bourdais to share at Imola
Peugeot duo Anthony Davidson and Sebastien Bourdais will share a car for the first time at the next round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at Imola next weekend.
British driver Davidson won the Spa round in May in the number seven Peugeot 908 with Marc Gene and Alex Wurz while Bourdais has usually driven the number nine machine with Pedro Lamy and Simon Pagenaud.
With only two of the turbodiesel machine entered for Imola, Bourdais will move across to Davidson's 908 while the number eight car will be driven by regular occupants Franck Montagny and Stephane Sarrazin.
"We fully expect a very closely-fought contest throughout the six hours at Imola, and that's why we're entering two cars driven by sprinters," said Peugeot Sport director Olivier Quesnel.
"We saw at Le Mans that we had to push through the entire 24 Hours, at Sebring the top three were separated by just 44 seconds after 12 hours of racing and at Spa-Franorchamps we finished one-two with only 40 or so seconds between our cars."
Peugeot leads the manufacturers race ILMC - for which there is no drivers' title – 34 points ahead of long-time rival Audi.

Anthony Davidson puts Peugeot on Imola ILMC pole
Peugeot driver Anthony Davidson claimed pole position for the fourth round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at Imola.
Davidson, who shares his Peugeot 908 turbodiesel with Sebastien Bourdais, set a best time of 1m31.736s around the former home of the San Marino Grand Prix to claim the top spot by six tenths of a second.
Davidson, who also set pole at the Petit Le Mans ILMC race last year, said: "It's good to be on pole position anywhere but especially on this track. It's good to get to the traffic first. With 49 cars on the track, traffic is going to be everything tomorrow."
Le Mans 24 Hours winner Marcel Fassler, who is driving here with Timo Bernhard, took second place in the best of the Audi R18 TDIs on a 1m32.354s.
Stephane Sarrazin ended up third in the second Peugeot, with Allan McNish fourth in the other turbodiesel Audi. Guillaume Moreau was top petrol-powered contender in OAK Racing's OAK Pescarolo-Judd.
LMP2 honours went to Mathias Beche in the TDS Racing ORECA-Nissan. The Swiss driver edged out the similar Boutsen Energy Racing car driven by Dominik Kraihamer.
Jorg Muller narrowly claimed pole from Schnitzer BMW team-mate Dirk Werner in the hotly-contested GTE class. There was just two tenths between the two BMW M3 drivers and the top nine cars were covered by a second.

Peugeot dominates the Imola Six Hours
Sebastien Bourdais and Anthony Davidson claimed victory in the Imola Six Hours on a day when Peugeot had the upper hand over arch-rival Audi.
The Peugeot 908 turbodiesels finished one-two and a lap clear of the pair of Audi R18 TDIs in the fourth round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup at the former home of the San Marino Grand Prix. Bourdais led for the first two stints before a botched pitstop allowed Stephane Sarrazin to move ahead in the car he shared with Franck Montagny.
Davidson closed down a 10-second deficit to Sarrazin and emerged ahead after the next round of pitstops. With the Audis beginning to fade at this stage, Peugeot decided to freeze the order.
The winning Peugeot looked to have lost the race in the penultimate hour when Bourdais had contact with a slower car and suffered a puncture. Eight laps later, Montagny had a similar problem after going off line, switching the Bourdais car back to the head of the leaderboard.
Davidson said: "This was such a fantastic race to win. First and second [for Peugeot] is unbelievable; we didn't expect such domination."
The Audi R18 appeared to be in the mix early on, but a combination of braking issues caused by debris blocking the front cooling ducts and the Peugeot's superior straight-line speed, which allowed it to cut through the traffic much easier, meant the cars drifted out of contention in the second and third hours.
LMP2 honours went to the Le Mans-winning Greaves Motorsport Zytek driven by Tom Kimber-Smith, Olivier Lombard and Karim Ojjeh. The Nissan-engined contender was not the fastest car in class, but its major rivals all suffered technical glitches.
BMW looked on course for GTE honours until the car driven by Jorg Muller and Augusto Farfus Jr was hit with a one-minute stop-go penalty in the final hour. The AF Corse Ferrari team eventually finished one-two, Toni Vilander and Jaime Melo coming out on top over Gianmaria Bruni and Giancarlo Fisichella, who suffered a repeat of the misfire that deprived them of victory at Le Mans last month.
