Rear suspension needs some work. The car is wasting power by twisting itself on the launch.
Diagnosis: too much engine, not enough car...

this is what happens when u try to run with a 40 year old shell
those cars need extensive work for any kind of power
Mine is structurally sound, but if u raise it on one of those tyre changing beds by Mileage Mack to change tyres and open a door, the door won't close until you lower the car back onto its wheels.............which is normal............makes you wonder about the guy who crashed the 240z locally on the 1320

Several parties are to blame in cases like these. The owner, mainly for building a race car and not installing the safety components necessary for walking out of a high speed crash. Secondly, the organization at large, that being track officials / safety officers for allowing such a vehicle to participate at the event. And I say it with some smiles above, since it was my uncle who crashed the 240z. Glad to have him around and lesson learnt by many after the accident. Its not about criticizing folks, its about learning from the mistakes.

so..............due to a cancellation of plans today, I had a whole day free!
Decided to do some work on the old girl. Seeing as she's dusty inside and out, I decided to put back in the door windows...
Started by cleaning up the brightwork using autosol, cloth and dremel to put on the final shine
Did the left one first......you can see the difference already

The whole assembly includes the triangular vent window, chrome trim for top edge of the door, as well as the forward window channel. The other channel is fixed inside the door. ONce dropped in, the trim at the top of the door was riveted into place before the door glass was dropped in.

I ran out of sunlight before getting the door winder mechanism fitted properly tho

The right side piece was not installed as I discovered that I had two left-side vent window rubbers, which were ordered since 2005 Sad They are side specific because of how the windows swivel.....at least it's clean and shiny tho..........just that little bit of work and the car is already starting to look better!
More pics to follow later Smile

What is it you and Zodi have with dogs - where your cars are concerned?????

Ohhhh... I get it... as viable sources of excuses for justifying procrastination...
"My dog ate my extension cord, so I couldn't drill..."
"My dog had her pups in the car, so I couldn't weld..."

(Note to self: Get a dog.)
