Well, the bush-fire destroyed a lot of wild fruit-bearing trees in the bush. This pushed the Basin Galap troupe of Red Howlers up Naranjo... and now we hear their calls often.

The storm "Tomas" dumped a lot of water on Toco, which did a lot of damage to the "new" road - apart from washing almost a truck-load of my gravel away... I have since recovered what I could from the drains. Sad
The road dropped at a few points, but cars and vans can still pass... barely.

Pics are a-coming.

Remember this shot?

Well, this is the same spot now...

Believe it or not.

Thanks to engineers who ignore the need for proper sub-surface drainage, here's that spot now... The gravel under my daughter's feet in the first photo was placed there by us to attempt to get enough roadway to pass (it was level with the road - what was left of it - for a while... but it is sinking too)

Here's the worst damage (that concerns me - elsewhere got some good lash too) done by Tomas, just past the 2 mile mark on Anglais. This roadway was supported by a stone retaining wall that was older than Satan's uncle. The wall came a-tumbling down, along with much of the road...

You can see the yellow tape which the road-workers use (along with bamboo) to repair roads in my area. They use these two materials exclusively and readily to bring relief to drivers... I wish someone would introduce them to cement, gravel and stone...

This is what's left...

This is where the other half of the road is...

But, hey, it's passable...
