Well last Sunday (22/7) I was lucky that my mechanic remembered that he had the brakes to service and called me to organize a day (got tired of the repairs and decided to put it on hold for a while). Well he came around 11 AM and finally finished around 5 PM, but had problems with getting the right wheel cylinder rubbers and need a new master cylinder before the brakes could be completed and the car taken off the jacks.

Right rear brake

Attempting to dis-assemble the shoes

Dis-assembled brakes

Assembling right rear

Dis-assembled front right

Attempting to remove the seized wheel cylinder

Seeing the condition of brake fluid after 3-4 years of being stationary and no fluid in the master cylinder

Attempting to free a seized secondary valve on the master cylinder with no success

Will get the new master cylinder in about a week or so and once the brakes are completed will work on fabrication of the accelerator linkage for running a cable (pedal and engine bay for the pull back)...then minor electrical work to complete (3 hours)...

I remember this car very well Surprised ...Maserati should too because while in UWI we both lived within 2 minutes of the body shop where this work was done....

I remember passing this car on the road before and after the body work was completed....i even got the chance to have an upclose look at the car as the body work was going on Twisted Evil ...
I took some photos of it as well but i lost them when the old pc died....

Nice to see a project like this ....
took alot of dedication to get this car to where it is now yes!!!
Congrats Stang...hope to see it on the road one day

Well finally started it yesterday and purged the car (about .5 litres of rust/orange liquid came out of the exhaust)...seems that there was a lot of condensation in the engine...good thing it didn't damage the engine...ran smoothly for 10 minutes, but when i tried to start it again the battery was dead... need to get a battery but not right now...

In a week or two will get the mechanic to come and adjust the brakes and put it back on the ground...

next steps is the doors...

Took down the window of a mustang convertible and found that the metal channel that the glass sits on is rusted and cannot now support re-attaching the window glass (will post some photos later).

Is there anyone locally that can fabricate the channel and weld it without compromising the integrity of the metal (seems to be iron) while retaining the shape?? Looked online but not getting the item without the window (costly)..

Also looking for rubber channel for the window run rail ...
