So we're here after a full day of transit. Two flights and a 2 hour drive and we're at the hotel. It's time to go to the tracks now and check on the car. The lady at the hotel said there's no real Shopping Mall around so we may hit the Supermarket instead and make a "big cook" on the tracks instead while the car goes thru tire fitting and tech inspection.

Summit Allstars Crowned Friday
ROCKINGHAM, N.C. --
(April 30, 2010) - In addition to the crowning of the 2009 Sportsman World Champions the IHRA and Summit Racing Equipment also handed out big money and big trophies to the winners of the 2009 Summit Allstars race.
After getting rained out midway through the event last year at the World Finals at Rockingham Dragway the competitors were forced to finish the event at the Spring Nitro Jam this year and this year's action produced an incredible competition.
With some of the classes having yet to make a pass and others down to the finals, the IHRA followed up the '09 TOC with a Summit Allstars event for the ages. When all was said and done Ricky Adkins (Top Dragster), Chris Gulitti (Top Sportsman), Jason Hoff (Quick Rod), Dale Koncen (Super Rod), Kenny Underwood (Hot Rod), Michael Lyons (Super Stock) and Terry Taylor (Stock) were left standing.
The following are Friday's final results from the 2009 Nitro Jam Drag Racing Series Summit All-Stars:
Top Dragster -- Ricky Adkins, Dragster, 7.262, 175.59 def. Randy Scheuer Jr., Dragster, 7.170, 185.41.

Three in in a row for the Trinidad Rocket!
Sheldon Bissessar has done it again! The Top Dragster Elite 8
competition was again taken by storm despite the hot weather which in
fact was responsible for everyone's times dropping off. The Trinidad
Rocket managed to secure the number two position after three rounds of
qualifying just hundreths of a second off Eddie Carrecia's pacesetting
run of 5.94 vs. Bissessar's 5.96. They were the only two Top Dragsters
to qualify in the five-second range. Carrecia's luck ran out however
as he continued into the first elimination round with a 6.20 pass
against a dial in time 5.85, breaking a valve in the process. Sheldon
however decimated the competition including Carrecia with an
astounding 5.88 pass against a dial of 5.82! The run would stand as
the fastest Top Dragster time of the meet as track temperatures soared
to 135 degrees while ambient temps approached the 100 degree mark.
Day two would see Sheldon entering the Elite 8 competition in the number
one spot taking the win in round one against James Leo who did not
make it to the start line. Sheldon still ran a 5.986@ 226.70 and headed
into round two against Burwell Kendrick who put up a reasonable fight
given the conditions with a pass of 6.471@ 211.69 vs Bissessar's
6.001@ 226.89. The Top Dragster Elite 8 final Round saw Bissessar line
up against Rob McKinley. Mc Kinley got the jump with slightly better
reaction time but it was all over by 60ft mark as Bissessar rocketed
away to take the win at Rockingham with a 5.971@ 227.15 vs. Mc Kinley's
6.235@ 217.28. The annoucer remarked "...that is one stout Top
Dragster!". This win makes it three consecutive wins for Sheldon as he
took the Elite 8 competition in Palm Beach, Baton Rouge and now at
Rockingham. So why not run in the Top Dragster dial-up competition?
"Because we don't get to run all-out" says Bissessar.
