some more renders...things moving real slow. Since I did up the wheels I've been bending the edges where surfaces meet inward...they will still have to be creased. One double crease per edge and then a 1/2 crease so the bends flow right at the last second of each edge. This little detail will helpthis look more realistic.

Still got Brakes, suspension, interior, lights and mirrors Rolling Eyes

So I did some more realistic renders using a lambert material. Gives it a clay like look when rendered and you get a better idea of the shape this way, instead of the black background.

Lots of little things to fix as u can tell...I'll keep you guys posted.

Ok...I got some nice updates coming soon...look for them up tomorrow. I've smoothened out all the body (more of less)...converted the shell from Poly's to Subdivision surfaces which makes it all smooth and sexy.

This is the hood

Again, but with two partial creases....see how the edge nearest towards you looks more defined than the first pic.

Here we see the corner of the hood near where the windshield would be. Notice how this corner is to rounded...it needs to be more pointed

So we fix it by adding a full crease:

Here we have the front 1/4 panel and fender all smoothened out and sexy Cool

Same as before...we need a more defined corner

Here's an example of a model made of polygons

We convert the oject to a Subdivision Surface, and viola:

Tomorrow I'll post up a picture of the entire shell rendered with some lights. No more shaders until the final render. Very Happy

Here is the entire body pretty much smoothened out...

Weeeeeee...I couldn't resist. I'm really hapy with how this one is turning out

So...I would say the shell is done there...now it's on to the smaller things that I mentioned before: suspension, brakes, yres and mirrors. I think I'll be doing the wheels over as well because I want the car to look realistic..I think the rims look too flashy,,,I want to go for something that looks more authentic.

Here's another render I never uploaded....I haven't gotten time to touch the car in a while...this semester looking tough...20 credits (5 courses). I don't think I will get much time to work on the car

some recent updates

Headlight...this was a difficult part to model...the shape has so many curves.

Also did some Brix II seats for the interior...these need a little more work though.

Very Happy

I did another wheel... Embarassed I really can't help myself. I wasn't satisfied with the last one as it looked to 'conceptual'...and I want the wheels to look like wheels you would actually see in real life. As a result I've done the BBS and am satisfied with the final result. Very Happy

The added detail and center cap went a long way to making it look more realistic. I also improved upon the render by blurring the reflections, changing the diffuse and specularity levels and decreasing the amount of reflection in the black surfaces. The images look fuzzy because jpeg format compresses the data and it loses a good bit of the detail. Confused

These are not the final renders...still have some left over texturing to do and I'll do a zorce logo either on the car as a graphic or in the back/forground. The car is also missing the mirrors...will model those soon.
