I have left the Honda Camp and joined back with my roots .. Toyota.

I will try to uphold the Toyota name the same way I tried with the HOnda Camp.

Casper will run!!

Red Dawg, Cyclops and I have always tried to do more with the underdog engines. Soooo, as a result:

Casper's engine is a 5EFE. Basically It's a 1.5L tercel engine.

Right now with just intake and exhaust, it will run with SOHC VTEC manual civics.

More to come of course, but no secrets will be revealed as yet. So far it has been upgraded suspension wise, and has won its class in Solodex in the past 2 events. Come up on the 28th August at ARC and see.

The Toyota P/up also known as the Corkys Van was an entirely home built project.
Firstly we had a stock cam reground by Cam Techniques to our Spec and installed it in the engine along with a 4 -2-1 header built by Zolaz muffler shop and a webber 32/36 carb mounted on a plate to the stock intake.

The van didnt perform a well as we expected then.
With a little research we determined that the stock compression ratio was 8.8:1 which was absolutely terrible as far as performance motoring is concerned.
Now that look back, it is a good engine for turbo.
Anyway we decided that we needed to increase the compression ratio so we shaved 3mm, thats right 3mm off the top of the block and 2.75mm off the top of the pistons.
The end result is that we eliminated some of the piston dish and the piston climbed out of the block by .25mm which is about .010".
Then we shaved 2mm off of the head and as long as the head was off the engine it might as well be ported so we did that, nothing fancy, just a little cleanup.

Thats it as far as engine mods.
We did at one time run double draughts but we kept cracking the manifold which was also home made.
When we contacted TRD Miami, they had never heard of a 2Y motor so they were absolutely no help.
The van did manage to run in the 16's which is not bad for a 1.8 liter pushrod motor in a double cab pickup with a Brahma top.

P.S. An article in sport compact truck at the same time that we were running this van, raved about a single cab 2.4L, 22R powered hi-lux with TRD cam, Draughts and Exhaust doing, as they said it, "a respectable 17.2" in the 1/4 mile
and we were beating that time with our back yard project.

You mean the single cab low lux with the built 22R crate motor that you imported, new side draughts, stainless steel header and all.
