Question... Question!...
Yeo... I still don't like the styling, (still looks like it has "no teeth") but...
If the new handling package is what I think it is then all is forgiven...
For those who didn't know, Loeb and Citroen won the 2005 WRC (again) mainly because their
car has the most well-developed "Active Suspension" available, since Colin Chapman (Lotus)
introduced the technology to Formula 1 over 25 years ago (1979-81 Lotus 86 and 88.)
Concept X:
"The new car, which rides on a chassis architecture developed in conjunction with
DaimlerChrysler, features McPherson struts up front and a multi-link rear axle. Surprisingly,
Mitsubishi claims to have added a new "Roll Control" suspension to this vehicle; details on
this system are minimal, but I've got a hunch it has something to do with active dampers...
For those currently engaged in the STI vs. EVO battle, Mitsubishi is upping the ante with a revised
version of its sublime all-wheel drive system. Now called S-AWC, standing for
Super All Wheel Control, it builds upon existing technology proven in previous generations
of Lancers, plus never-before seen tech to raise the bar in vehicle dynamics.
In addition to ACD3 and Super AYC4 (Active Differential and Yaw Control), S-AWD
implements Active Brake Control, Active Steering System and the Roll Control suspension
to further integrate the vehicles handling, braking and ride characteristics into traction and
power delivery. The technology is simply mind-blowing. "

Article and links on the most revolutionary suspension system in 25 years coming to
"The Mitsubishi Madmen Forum" soon...
If the new Mitsubishi Motors' "Roll Control Suspension" technology is a "licenced"
OEM derivitave of that system... well fellas, it could look like a "box cart" I don't care...
I WANT ONE NOW!...... or at the very least I want to add it to my Evo...
btw I already e-mailed... OEM only for the time being, no kits sold.
Why would Mitsubishi adopt this system??? Because it works!!!
btw Mitsubishi already uses the system on their "Dakar" Pajero entries... hence my question!!!
So!... Does anyone have more Evo X / Concept X suspension tech details??? _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick! |
