This was announced last Tuesday night at the Drag Racing briefing meeting when Bunny called Rawle Mahabir. Appprently this month's Drag Racing meet is still on but we are yet to have full details.
This notice applies to ALL Motorsport bodies who must leave Wallerfield by the 30th of September, 2005.

Motor racing evicted from Wallerfield

The Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Sports Association (T&TASA) have been evicted from their Wallerfield base.
The association was advised of their eviction by senior vice-president of the Evolving Tecknologies and Enterprise Development Company Limited (ETeck) Beverly John, who advised that her company is preparing for the commencement of infrastructure works at the venue "in or around October 2005".
"In the circumstances, we are to formally notify you of the revocation by ETeck of your licence/permission to occupy and/or use the southern runway on the site of the Wallerfield Industrial and Technology Park, for all auto sport activities with immediate effect," stated the document dated September 6.
John advised that the association was requested to vacate the runway and "to remove any structures which you have constructed thereon".
"ETeck hereby allows you a period of two weeks, but no later than September 30, 2005 to remove said structures," John informed.
For their part, T&TASA officials said the current action being undertaken by ETeck breaches an agreement by the parties.
"It was agreed by all parties that motor sport would have at least three years from 2005 or until a new facility would be constructed so as not to endanger the sport," a T&TASA release said.
Pointing out that the action being pursued by ETeck endangers the sport, T&TASA also said organisers had "spent substantial amounts of money" to develop the site promised to them and "have been given no guidance as to when motor sport can continue".
The T&TASA document also indicated that circuit and drag racing would be the two disciplines to suffer the most from the loss of a home that served the association for more than 40 years, a loss that will mark the end of "sustainable motor racing in Trinidad and Tobago" and "end of an era". |

This sucks .............. I say we Invite all media houses up to Wallers this weekend and let them get the Real story from the Fans and Racers point of view and how safe the Sport is at a Controlled Venue and see the Revenu that could be earned if it was run as a Proper Business

Just spoke with Rawle Mahabir, Drags are officially ON.
Regarding the reason why TTASA et al were evicted, eTeck is ready to begin infrastructural works on site as early as October. During this time access to Wallerfield will be restriced and erected structures on the tracks demolished to make way for the new University of T&T.
Before people start branding the racers as "the irresposible fun-loving bunch" that wants to use Wallerfield and hold back education in T&T, I think we can all agree that we want BOTH. We want a new University AND we want a home for Motor Racing. In fact Micheal Douglas a.k.a. "Douggie" was interviewed by Paradise MotorSports and said on air that we were all in support of Education in T&T. Beware those who may try to paint the picture of "either, or" since this is not the case. We want BOTH� MotorSport and Tertiary Education in T&T.
Here every creed and race find an equal place.... right?

Well TTASA has now served eTECK with a court injunction which suspends eTECK's notice until the court hearing on Nov 11th, 2005. This means that access to Wallers is temporarily back!
Just spoke to Rawle at AutoSport� this weekend's test n' tune is ON!!! Followed up by the next scheduled DRAG MEET!!!!
