HELP..306 tu5j question

is the back pressure hose supposed to have engine oil in it? and does the oil get into the throttle body?

the same hose running from the top of the engine to the air intake..

what i did is i installed a cold air intake and i removed the original air box but when i removed the air box i noticed there was a little engine oil in it which came tru the hose..

not sure what u referring to as a back pressure hose
The return hoses are for crank venting and should not have oil

i am refering to the hose running from the top of the engine to the air intake..

if it's a small amount of oil, it could just be an accumulation from the crank venting. Crank vent gasses will have oil vapours, some of which over time can collect in crevices. How much oil is there, and when last did u clean it before noticing the oil??

well i have always noticed some oil in there..but i sumwhat thought that was normal..

i heard that its bad if that happens to other cars..buh i know with PUGS its different..lol..

so if u pug tuners can lend some advise.. i will try to go by sheldon..buh it time..

If you oil is thin (reduced viscosity) you will get blow by. That hose is terminated by a filter in the intake assembly it actually acts as a trap for the oil. During a service this filter/ trap is normally disassembled and cleaned.
On a different note you think you installed a cold air intake��but depending on the material you use and the location of the filter you may have installed a hot air intake��

well the air comin in is cold because i have placed a hood vent above the filter to allow air to come in..

on another note..so what steps should i take into keeping the intake..and fixing this oil "blow by" problem??

so does the hose even HAVE to be attached to the intake..or can i not attach it and jus get a oil catch can installed or sumting??
