Well I'm working on a new car model (instead of the evo VI which I put on hold for the time being). Here is my progress so far:
This is about 4 days worth of modelling so far.
Front bonnet, front fender and door.
Still got a lot to go, but I'll keep you guys posted.

This will be my first 'original'. I began modelling an evo (by myself) via nurbs which is supposed to result in a slightly smoother model, however I really didn't know enough to complete the model hence it is on hold. This Ferrari is being done with polygons and will be converted later on to subdivision surfaces. After the evo I worked on a couple models via tutrials that can be found online.
Here are some pics of the evo I was working on:
As you can tell, I didn't get very far . I started over this car I don't know how many times. However, since then I have learn't alot...and more importantly: I realized I prefer to model using polygons. I don't have any cars on this computer at the moment, but here are some pics of a project I did last semester for a conceptual building on campus with furniture.

Thanks for the compliment, but trust me on this: I am an amateur. My friend Jamie at Eye Scream Animation is where i would like to be....he did the 2001 Kawasaki 600 in the other post. He's self taught as well.
When you go on the forums like cgtalk.com and see the quality of work there, I feel like a real novice. They have men who are 18 years old, making life like animations in a couple of hours..and already working for big companies. And some have only be playing with the software for like five years. That to me is amazing. I just hope I reach that level else I'm screwed when i get out in the real world, cuz I'm already 21. |
