Just wanted to let u all know the type of people that are working at car Car Boutique in st james,in fact it's the owners that are doing the bad.About 3 months ago i bought 4 new tyres the brand is federal 255 16 44,the first month every thing went well, after that 2 of the 4 was inspected by 4 tyre men one includeing michelen service center and was deemed defective the inside off the tyre has seperated causing the tyre to lose it's roundness and shape,so i carried it back only to be approached with pot hole cause that, not only that they say one tyre is 695 and i paid 800 for one a matter a fact 850 was the real price now they tellin me bring the bill ofcource i did not have the bill my fault which i regret but i paid via linx so my bank will have a statement and george said i could pay for that he want the bill!, so 3000 dollars gone down the drain and George Dean was the man that was givein me all kind of talk so in the end he say they can't do noting for that but he will see if one of the tyre i could get a claim.do u see now why the country is were it's at right now! all the tyres are bad and on top of that he rob me by say 695 is the real price and i payed 800 for it well ofcource the took away 200 hundred thats how it arived at $3000 as a smart thing.Don't buy from dem after u do u will see why!and stay away from federal! _________________ AlexDel |

Sorry to hear you had such an unfortunate experience bro. You are right to be upset however Car Boutique has to protect themselves from the general public trying tyre scams on them, they are in business for many many years now so i am sure they have had their share of dishonest people (not you of course) try to scam them for tyres etc. However they should have treated you better as they can indeed claim on those tyres once it has been proven to be a factory defect. The thing is our business sector has not effeciently been held responsible for defected products in the market place. In the US you would not have this problem but unfortunately we not first world as yet, you can if you really want go to consumer affairs & they will investigate & have Car Boutique refund or replace at full cost the product in question. You should not come out of this with a loss, car boutique has a responsibility to you the customer, sometimes you need to tell them you going to consumer affairs this way you may get them to act rather than keep brushing you off. As well as they may say go right ahead, the system works but it needs people to make it work & well the people dont like to work unless it is in their best interest to do so. However you should not accept this as a loss cause. Please let us know how it works out in the end. |

That is truly unfortunate cause it is not only a loss for you but them also as they just lost a customer. Proving otherwise i guess is a bit tough, they saying pot hole, you saying defect, even though you are right you can't prove it, & they thinking if they take back those tyres they could be opening up themselves for many others to say defect when it may well be pot hole in other cases. talk about a rock & a hard place. Trinidad has a lot of work to do in the area of customer service & claims. Very unfortunate experience. |
