i dont want GTI6, as the box requires mods to the steering rack of the car i beleive, & there really is no advantage of the 6 speed, i not tryin to save gas & that is what this box will do, i want regular 2.0 as i have ACT package of clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, release bearing & LSD for this box. The 6 speed will just have you changin alot of gears with no real benefit for my engine setup meaning gear ratios. |

Robert
Good to see you back out.
I was shocked to learn first hand how tough it is to get your hands on a 2.0 gearbox. The transmissions real easy to come by but I found a S16 engine and gearbox in the UK sometime last month. Unfortunately I didn't take the price or location.
Just my 2 cents, but if I know you, at some point you will want to try out the GTi-6 box.

Hail Darren, how's it going bro? I did some research on the GTI6 box & found for my application it will not give me any added performance but may actually take away from what i am attempting to acheive. The common thought most of us have, is 6 gears is better than five, but that is not neccessarily true. In my case the 6th gear will give me better gas mileage but i dont want that, what i have is a gas burner & quite aptly so, boost & better gas mileage is not a good combination to have unless it came so from the factory. I am into power which needs to be fed by air & fuel, 5 gears works better for me as the 6th gear does not pull you through the power band on the rpm range, it is more like a cruise gear, i have no intention of cruising in this ride, I purchased a SUV for cruising. But i am sure at some point i will get a 2.0 box, the engine i built cannot maximise power with a 1.8 box, it is only a matter of time before it xplodes, so i want to be proactive & build a 2.0 b4 that happens., I talked to Howard of peoples Auto but he wont bring in anything on order. |

UPDATE: Well tomorrow i choosing the color, Yes Black but a more new model black. I have rolled & shaved the lips on all 4 fenders, as well as adding a very modest flare, tyres will be shipped along with some other bolt on goodies, tyres are very nice (Bridgestone Potenza RE070 225/45/17) the car is like a overhaulin project car, totally scrapped for detailed paint job, paint will actually be done by end of this week then it is time to re-assemble, will keep you updated on when she will be back in the den & taking visitors.
Chinee yuh gone Mitsubishi but i know you still have a PUG, my next ride may be japanese as well,
i am limited with power in a front wheel drive & traction....next ride is All Wheel or Rear Wheel. But the PUG will not be for sale that will just be another horse in the stable. |

Well my ride finally has paint on it, i have not seen it yet but i hear it looks proper, My tyres, exhaust & other goodies are expected to arrive tomorrow, so i guess re-assembly of the Lion will be taking place from next week after the long weekend.....STAY TUNED for the updates & the Big Reveal.....once the ride is home all pug enthusiasts are invited to view......i am sure it will meet with only nodds of serious approval, as everything has been re-worked for performance, alot of effort & investment in time & coin has been put into it....ALL SHOW & ALL GO, i still looking for a 2.0 gearbox |

Thanks for the suggestion bro, NO i never thought of that, i only thought of bringing it in myself as i dont like runaround from people, but i will definitely consider that. Once i get one my 1.8 box will be for sale with full ACT stage3 street & strip package(which includes 6 puck copper clutch with matching pressure plate & release bearing) this is a very nice setup, the reason i need to change is because my engine is 2.0 now & the box just wont handle what i have to throw at it & i dont want to shatter it, will let you guys know when i am successful in obtaining a 2.0 box. Thanks again for the suggestion. |

If anybody interested in wheel bolts for their 306 or 206 i have 2 used sets that i will give away for FREE. I have a full set (16) of original ones that the car came with which is black in color, & i have another full set (16) of slightly longer ones that my rims came with. The second set is supposed to be a higher strength material, silver in color, i have no use for these now as i have converted to studs. I will have to collect the silver ones from the paint shop this weekend. |

YES, these bolts 1 set are original from the factory, the next set is aftermarket for the pug as well, both sets are 4x108 original fittment. One set is just slightly longer than the other, aftermarket ones are the longer ones. |
