Final Batch!... As we approach the end yet another evolutionary period...
Here is the UK Evolution IX FQ320... Life on the other side of the pond.

Not the ones we get at home, or the lower powered examples in the States...
Brief Test of REAL WORLD Evo... one with real OEM power for a change.

Now waiting on an attractive Evo X... if possible.

BTW There's an IX FQ340 too... 345 hp.

That one's 345hp @ 6800rpm / 321lb-ft @ 4600rpm / 0-62 mph in 4.3 sec.

"Customers demanding the ultimate Evolution IX are offered the FQ-340.
The FQ-340 builds on the FQ-320�s specification with a supplementary ECU, which is
hard-wired to the car�s existing engine management system and controls the ignition timing
and air/fuel mixture. It produces 345bhp at 6800rpm and 321 lb ft of torque at 4600rpm.

From rest, the FQ-340 will reach 62mph in 4.3 sec (est).

Evolution IX : Engine

__FQ-320 features upgraded breathing apparatus developed by Mitsubishi Motors UK�s
Ralliart division in conjunction with HKS.
__FQ-340 includes FQ-320 breathing apparatus and adds a supplementary ECU, which

Would love to see an FQ400 from the IX...or even higher - just really want to see the MIVEC pushed a bit more! Then compare to the 8 - see the difference with both!!!

They are developing a RalliArt version of Evo IX now, might even come close to 400 hp too.
... but IMHO Ralliart/Xtreme Motors might not develop another supercar like FQ400 fight now on Evo IX chassis.

FQ400 was 35th. anniversary model, conceived by Sales Manager... not RalliArt.
IMO Maybe that's why it was not as successful as RS450 in 2000. Laughing

The IX is a fantastic base. Its the best most powerful Cedia-shelled Evo... so they will tweek it a lot. Dealer Options yes, but a new model range, I don't think so. They have 18 months until Evo X so we'll see.

BTW the new 'world' engine in Evo X is developed with Crysler and Hyundai, and may have Mivec or similar + turbo etc.
Capacity is debatable since no more 2-litre WRC limits exist.
BTW what are new WRC engine rules? That may give idea about new engine design.
