As some of you all may know, I lost my camera (when a camera is as small as a phone, always easy to misplace Rolling Eyes ) .

I have these two options, and it's around my budget.

1) Kodak Z812IS
It's 12x optical zoom, 8.2 MP

Its $279us @
Amazon

Review Here

________

2) Canon S5IS
12X optical zoom & 8.0 MP

It $304.95us @
Amazon

Review Here

_________

Please give your opinions Cool

Well they are both more or less even the "IS" on the Canon will be better and the Kodak seems to handle high ISO better.

I kinda siding with the Kodak because it has a High-def. movie mode

Quote:
The Z812 IS really rocks in video mode. Users can capture video clips at 1024 x 720 (in 16:9 widescreen mode) at 30fps (with stereo audio) AND use the zoom during filming (very minor lens and focus motor noise is audible). OIS is available (and very useful) in video mode. Serious shooters will love also Kodak's Freeze Frame feature -- users can extract any selected individual frame from a video and save it as a still image.

Also consider the Kodak EasyShare Z1012 $268.00 on Amazon.com

"It only looks serious. The Z1012 is pure fun to use. Kodak's Easyshare 1012IS does that too (even in high-definition) at resolutions of HD (1280 720) at 30 fps; VGA (640 480) at 30 fps; QVGA (320 240) at 30 fps - with Quicktime and MP4 compression for stereo sound in HD mode. It's simple to use with lots of automatic settings. Want to be creative? There are manual and semi-automatic modes too. Optical image stabilization helps keep images blur free. Get ready for some great shooting and even better results with the EasyShare Z1012IS. 2.5 TFT LCD File management on camera - delete, undo delete, copy, protect, text tagging 32 MB internal memory available, SDHC SD card expansion slot Optical image stabilizer Face detection technology Panorama stitch mode KODAK PERFECT TOUCH Software PC and Mac compatible ISO sensitivity auto, 64, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, 3200 (6400 @ 3 megapixel mode only) Unit Dimensions W H D - 108.5 74.2 76.6 mm; Weight - 325 g"

This shot is with the Z8612IS. I really like the 12x zoom. It sucks tho that the camera doesn't have an Electronic-Viewfinder to aid in stabilisation. Edited the image a little with trial version of Lightroom2 & photoshop.
