Hot 1-Series confirmed
BMW has confirmed the hottest 1-Series yet - the 130i - will be available from September.

The new car will use a tweaked version of BMW's 258bhp lightweight magnesium-alloy six-cylinder engine. Power output is claimed to be 265bhp, and torque is up from 221lb ft to 232lb ft - making it the most powerful BMW six-cylinder engine bar the 3.2-litre unit in the M3.

On the road, this means 0-62mph in 6.1 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph. Fuel consumption will be 30.7mpg on the combined cycle, while the EU4-compliant powertrain produces 221g/km.

BMW 1-Series buyers will also be able to order active steering for the first time on the 130, which varies the steering ratio depending on road speed.

Prices are set at 24,745 for the 130i SE and 26,515 for the 130i M Sport, which includes a range of 'M' styling accessories for your cash.

Check out your local BMW dealer for more info.
