BTCC racer Tom Chilton will share an LMP1 Zytek with his younger brother Max at the next round of the Le Mans Series at Silverstone.

The pair will race for Arena Motorsport, who have plenty of ties with the pair already through sportscars, BTCC, and Formula Three.

While Tom has won races in prototypes before, the Silverstone race will mark the debut for his 16-year-old brother.

"Max is ready for this," said Tom. "We tested at Paul Ricard recently and If he hadn't done a good job we wouldn't have entered this race

"He's a very fast, professional driver and his pace in the test, particularly on fresh tyres, had even me surprised.

"I'm really excited we're sharing a car at Silverstone and it's probably a taster to see how we do for the future. We'd love to race together as teammates at Le Mans."

The race will be the second LMS outing of the season for the BTCC race winner, who admitted that the petrol-powered Zytek will struggle against the diesel Peugeots that have dominated the series this year.

"We'll be a match for anyone through the corners at Silverstone, but the straights are a different matter," he added. "When I did the Nurburgring race, it felt like the Peugeots had another 100 horsepower."
