Last weekend at Spa-Francorchamps we announced the (possible) arrival of an Audi R10 TDI at the Silverstone Le Mans Series round in September. During the Le Mans Series press meeting in the Radisson SAS Balmoral hotel it was confirmed that "there will likely be an Audi at the start of a Le Mans Series race and that this will normally be the Silverstone round in September".
The announcement in Spa seems to have been a bit premature as today Audi Motorsport told Planetlemans that there are no plans anymore to enter the R10 at Silverstone.
Audi informed us today that the Audi R10 TDI shall not be attending the LMS race at Silverstone. The reason is that as the season progressed for the Audi R10 TDI, Silverstone was no longer a highlight on the schedule and therefore the programme was modified.
With Spa and Silverstone without Audi it remains to be seen if the words of Patrick Peter that there will be an Audi in the Le Mans Series this season and in 2008 will become reality.

What's the real deal with Audi? This isn't the ALMS where they are getting beaten by the LMP2 cars.
