You didn't hear the BEST part... To put it into context, a seriously USED Clausing (top quality)
drill-press is $1,950 US before shipping. The HUGE savings allowed me to buy these too:
UNUSED 52" Kennedy 12-drawer Tool Cart ... UNUSED Cyclone Sandblast Cabinet & Dust Collector
............ ..............................
......... New = $1,754 US... SALE = $600 US ............ New = $1,100 US... SALE = $499 US
NEW 48" Sheet Metal Box & Pan Brake ... Thanks to my wife's great suggestion!
.........
New= $465 US... SALE = $200 US
Now ADD Air-grinder (porting heads) and Glass beads (Sandblaster.)
Total for EVERYTHING is almost 50% less than a local VS drill-press.
Yup! Surplus sales work for me. _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick!

Why do I want a Bending Brake???...
Well it was CHEAP... also it's for the DIY Powder-coating Oven.
... and after the car projects, I'm gonna make me one of these...
Sanctifier wrote: | BTW... these are three Lista cabinets. Total retail price in US is...
... Cabinet A - $2,795
... Cabinet B - $1,195
... Cabinet C - $1,595
Complete Workstation - $5,025 US... AFTER discount... Tools not included...
$45,000.00 TT... ...for Tool cabinets ... Nope! I don't think so... |
Yup... locking mechanisms, dividers, ball-bearing runners, drawer-pulls,
handles, locks etc. are available... SURPLUS of course. ... 'Nuff said! _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick!

^ ^ ^ Yup! The only thing that's not so sweet... is the BANK LOAN needed for all this stuff.
Got the loan about seven months ago... eleven months left.
It'll be worth it after it's paid off though. _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick! |

opening a shop or just for personal use?
i have some manifolds to sand blast and probably powder coat and other custom stuff to do.
really nice equipment at bargain prices, but the quality of worksmanship/labour is equally
important. But once you got that, the bank loan is chicken feed.
lots of customers and savings that you would otherwise be spending. |

^ ^ ^ Personal use only for the time being... otherwise I'll get swamped doing private jobs
rather than doing my Project cars. My 4wd GSR-to-Evo 6 "Tommi" conversion is neglected
due to buying tools. Next, gut & "stitch-weld" Evo shell + DIY custom paint + engine &
coil-over suspension upgrade. Then paint job for my wife's car... and saving the best for last...
FULL restoration of RWD GSR!... with rust removal dip (Electrolysis) for the whole shell,
+ Independant Rear Suspension & Brembo brake conversion + engine upgrade
... and on... and on...
As far as the job quality is concerned, you'll have to be the judge of that.
Hopefully there will be one or two friendly faces... and I expect some "Haters" too
... at least "behind my back." Par for the course. We'll see. You know what they say...

Just got MIG welder last week
(Sale - 30% OFF!) ... Sweet too bad!
Right now this is only for fun. Mainly to keep out of mischief. At this rate I'll NEVER get into
any extra mischief. Maybe in a few years time I'll get lucky. _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick!

Actually -blazing- I am a VERY lucky man. My wife is my most loyal supporter.
Quote: | Nope! She didn't agree with spending all this money on a hobby at first
... but she still supported me 100% as usual. |
As a matter of fact, this has led to a "Start-up" Business selling Tools for the
Do-It-Yourself 2nr, Commercial & Industrial equipment, Audio systems, Auto Bodywork
Material, Abrasives & Paint... basically ANYTHING legal.
Shipping & Air Freight channels already established... more to follow.
Working on local "Door-to-Door" delivery now.
Quote: | The idea is to offer top quality items at TWO levels of pricing... Offer a GUARANTEE...
and with lower overheads, ALWAYS aim for volume sales by selling at bargain prices.
The best Brand Names at 25-45% LOWER than local prices... or more!
DIY 2nr Price... Very good quality tools at even lower prices for local 2nrs.
Offer a Customer Protection Warranty on ALL items for customer assurance.
Offer a Service Department manned by PROFESSIONALS in that field, for top
quality "Maintenance & Repair" to keep your tools in top condition...
BTW the Service Department is already established! and EXTRA Service equipment coming soon. |
YUP! I will ALSO be selling...
Quote: | SURPLUS, RECONDITIONED and USED equipment in great condition with a Warranty!
Don't worry, they'll be advertised accurately beforehand and prices will be FANTASTIC!
See Page 1 & above
But I'll NEVER offer any "bargain basement quality" items at "piper" prices.
My reputation is too important to me... I prefer to lose the sale. |

JEEZ!!!... Ah gettin' impatient.
Toys listed above arrived two Fridays ago... and still can't get Customs Clearance.
Quote: | Used Air-compressor bought (eBay) nearly ten days after was cleared yesterday
and delivered today. |
......... Quote: | 5 HP / 2-stage (175 psi) / 80 gallon tank... Starter + 3 Water Seperators/Regulators included
I was a little lucky here... repairable Refrigerated Air Dryer was included too. (Lower left in pic.)
So after I get it repaired... Clean, DRY, Oil-free air... all the time. |
Very good condition for used unit... This one's for me!
$560 USD (but had to arrange "pick up", palletizing and shipping, so freight was a killer!) _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick!

^ ^ ^ Planning for my non-retirement years, padna. Just trying to stay out of mischief.
I put it off so many times over the years, that the price went up 450-600% in some cases.
eg. A new compressor like that would be about $1,700 USD + Shipping + Duty + VAT.
Adding the usual rip-off mark-up = $17,000-20,000 TT. Much too expensive for me.
If I don't buy surplus or used units now, I'll never be able to afford it later.
A similar one, in worse condition is on eBay right now for $900.00 USD Link--> Click Here

AT LAST!... Toys delivered at 4 pm today...
Took more than TWO WEEKS for those idiots to get it right...
... and I have to pay rent for their inefficiency........................
but at least toys are here now.
Didn't even have time to uncrate today to check shipment for damage.
Details tomorrow... This weekend will be fun. _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick! |

JEEZ H. CHRIX ... Heaven... PURE HEAVEN! I've been all day...
Pix didn't do them justice... Drill-Press iz ah MONSTER... Taller than me... 6' 2"... 630 lbs...
and BRAND SPANKIN' NEW...
Small dimple on right rear of tool cabinet and some minor brusing in a couple places.
If that knocks off $1,100.00 USD from the price... Then it works for me
Cyclone Sandblast Cabinet is BRAND NEW. Can't see any defects so far.
I think I lucked out BIG TIME! ... and every single thing arrived in one piece.
Later!... Ah goin' back to dribble some more. _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick!

^ ^ ^ UPDATE: ... I didn't know just how lucky I was with the air-compressor, dryer and
accessories. Today, a tyre shop owner told me that a few years ago he bought a similar
5hp, 2-stage, 80 gal unit.... for $40,000 TT ...... Talk 'bout RAPE?
Even with my landed cost of around $1300 USD my used unit is a DEAL Later I'll add full
Tune Up kit + NEW valves etc. for future full rebuild = $575.00 US...worth every cent IMHO.
Sanctifier wrote: | That's the kind of rip-off we have to face when buying anything here.
That kind of thing is exactly why I started this home-based business.
All I'm looking for is 15-20% mark-up on the total landed cost of an item. |
It will take a while but I'll try to bid on (eBay) or buy similar units for resale when available.
Even the yanks are selling used units for pretty high prices these days.
Link--> Click Here ... and according to them...
Quote: | Item has switch problem and knocks. |
The compressor knocks?... a switch problem?... for US $795.00 ... Okaaaay ...
YUP!... First shipment of REAL tool bargains arrives in about 4 weeks.
Small quantity... but SWEET PRICES! Stay tuned... _________________ Walk softly... and carry a BIG stick!
